    Apakah yang dimaksud dengan Ellipsis ?

    Ellipsis merupakan suatu teknik dengan memendekkan gabungan dari 2 kalimat / lebih. Caranya yaitu dengan menghilangkan bagian kalimat yang mempunyai sama arti, sehingga tidak akan terjadi perulangan kata dalam 1 kalimat. Pembentukan kalimat ellipsis terbagi menjadi 6, yaitu :

    So/too
    Formula :
    - (S+P), and (so + aux + S)
    - (S+P), and (S + aux + too)

    Example :
    - My father is at home. My mother is at home
    My father is at home and so is my mother
    - my father is at home and my mother is too
    - Brian works in the company, Elizabeth works in the company
    - Brian works in the company and so does Elizabeth
    - Brian works in the company and Elizabeth does too
    - Vega has finished the assignment. I have finished the assignment
    - Vega has finished the assignment, and so have i
    - Vega has finished the assignment, and I have too

    Either/Neither
    Formula :
    - (S + P), and (neither + aux + S)
    - (S + P), and (S + aux + not + either)
    Example :
    - Bella doesn’t like durian. Sasha doesn’t like durian
    - Bella doesn’t like durian, and neither does sasha
    - Bella doesn’t like durian, and sasha doesn’t either
    - I haven’t take a bath. Ramanof hasn’t taken a bath
    - I haven’t take a bath, and neither has ramanof
    - I haven’t take a bath, and ramanof hasn’t either
    - The boy is not a student. The girl is not a student
    - The boy is not a student,and neither is the girl
    - The boy is not a student, and the girl isn’t either

    Both..and.., not only…but also, …either…or… dan neither…nor…
    Kempatnya digunakan untuk menggabungkan dari unsur yang sama atau setara
    Formula :
    - Both (noun/adjective/verb/adverb) + and (noun/adjective/verb/adverb)
    - Not only (noun/adjective/verb/adverb) + but also (noun/adjective/verb/adverb)
    - Either (noun/adjective/verb/adverb) + or (noun/adjective/verb/adverb)
    - Neither (noun/adjective/verb/adverb) + nor (noun/adjective/verb/adverb)


    Example :
    - Dania loves dancing. Riana loves dancing
    - Both Dania and Riana love dancing
    - Not only Dania but also Riana love dancing
    - Rhino is not clever. Rhino is not diligent
    - Rhino is not either clever or diligent
    - Rhino is neither clever nor diligent

    Whether…or not
    Formula : Whether (S + P) + or not
    Example :
    - I like coffe because you like it. I still like coffe even if you don’t likeit
    - I like coffe whether you like it or not
